1957 Gibson ES-125TD Sunburst

1957 Gibson ES-125TD Sunburst

A players grade 125, in a rare double-pickup, no cutaway configuration!

Dated by its serial number stamp featuring a 'U' prefix, this example dates to 1957. Interestingly, this was also the first year of the 125 featuring a thinline body option. In contrast to other examples, this one features two P-90s as well as no cutaway, a slightly harder to find configuration for these examples! This one features an original, beautifully checked finish as well as the original silk screen logo. What appears to be the original truss rod cover is also present. No headstock repairs present, and features a quintessentially 'chunky' '57 neck profile.Ā

Where things become more player grade however, comes down to a lot of the hardware and electronics. The following parts are non-original to this example: pickups, wiring and pots, capacitors, tailpiece, volume/tone plastics, bridge, three-way switch and tip, pickguard, and pickguard bracket. This is reflected in the price.Ā

However, a super awesome sounding 1950s Gibson guitar that plays great.Ā

Hardware and electronics are fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes a non-original Gretsch hardcase.Ā
