1960s Maton Supreme EG-240A Sunburst

1960s Maton Supreme EG-240A Sunburst

Holy smokes, it's another awesome Maton electric!

We've had a few of these late '50s/early '60s Matons come through, and each one has stolen a little piece of our hearts. This particular model is a Supreme EG-240A and based off the headstock logo, we believe this one to have possibly been made around 1962. The hardware and electronics appear original to this example, however we believe at some stage someone has changed the neck and body binding to this pearloid material. This example has an exceptionally present attach unplugged, and the pickups deliver that nice and chimey low output sound typical for these sorts of guitars.

Cosmetic condition is good with the expected dings, scratches, and checking throughout. There appears to be a minor split on the headstock where the tuners are attached on the bass side, however this appears stable at this time. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low-medium action. Includes an Epiphone-branded hardcase.
