1970s Pearl S-Style Black
A fascinating example from a little known guitar brand!
Featuring the typical Stratocaster appointments in tandem with a CBS-era headstock shape, this example most likely was manufactured by Matsumoku in the 1970s. Unfortunately info is limited on these examples. Inspecting under the pickguard, this example appears to show a full rewiring including newer Alpha pots, Sprague Orange Drop capacitor, and what appears to be replacement pickups of an unknown origin. The bridge appears to show replacement saddles. A cool S-style that delivers excellent, bell-like tones and exceptional clarity to boot!
Cosmetic condition is good for its age, with the expected play wear for a poly-finished instrument from this period. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low-medium action. Includes a Maton-branded hardcase.Ā
