2000s Fender CIJ JB45 Jazz Bass Sunburst
A cool early-2000s Fender Japan Jazz Bass with some sleek modifications.
This particular model dates between 2002-2004 and was released as part of the 'J-Craft Standard' line from Fender Japan. This particular example finished in sunburst features a basswood body, as well as a maple neck and rosewood fretboard with Fender Japan's 'oval' profile. Quite a popular, and more affordable offering from Fender Japans catalogue.
Noticeably, this example has had its original pickups and electronics replaced with an active circuit and EMG J-Bass pickups. As a result, the cavity of the control plate has been routed out to accomodate the new electronics and battery. It appears this example has also had its control knobs, pickguard, and bridge replaced. The new black accents make this one mean-looking bass, with plenty of power courtesy of the EMGs.
Cosmetic condition is reasonable with noticeable scuffing, scratching, dints, and swirl marks throughout. Of note, there is a decent sized by the lower part of the control plate also what looks like a hole drilled in the back. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium-low action. Includes a gig bag.
