2015 Gibson Government Series ES-335 Gun Metal Grey

2015 Gibson Government Series ES-335 Gun Metal Grey

The feds stole my rosewood (then gave it back!)

It's 2011, and Gibson is raided by federal agents, taking their rosewood stock. After some deliberation, the rosewood is returned to Gibson as it was deemed to have not be acquired 'illegally'. The end result was a line of guitars called the Government Series, and the ES-335 was the top of the line offering. Finished in a quite fitting 'Gunmetal Grey', the Government series had fretboards utilising the originally confiscated rosewood. Another interesting feature of these models was the choice to use their Dirty Fingers pickups, no doubt a thinly veiled jab. Otherwise, these were pretty standard ES-335s made in very limited quantities (this example is 207 of 300).

This particular example had been bought new, direct from the factory at the time and imported to Australia. Aside from being played once to test if it works, it is essentially untouched and 100% collector grade. Cosmetic condition is understandably flawless, and includes the original case as well as all the case candy plus COA.
