One of the key hallmarks of Hendrix's style, excluding the radical guitar playing and penchant for setting guitars on fire, was playing right-handed Stratocasters upside down. The Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster from Fender Mexico keeps the body shape un-flipped, whilst flipping the headstock around. The end result is a different tension on the low 'E', something of which many claim to be part of Jimi's 'secret sauce' so to speak. The bridge pickup angle is also adjusted as if it was flipped.Ā
Besides that, standard Fender Stratocaster fare throughout. Alder body, maple neck, as well as three Pure Vintage '65 Stratocaster pickups with period correct grey bobbins! Neck feels great with a 'C' shape profile and 9.5" radius. Features a very cool inscription of Hendrix on the neck plate!
Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low-medium action. Includes an ABS Fender hard case.Ā
