1950s Alver by Maton Archtop Sunburst
Quite a unique piece from Matons storied history!
Alver Guitars functioned as a sub brand of Maton, offering more affordable instruments for beginner guitarists. Featuring a ply construction, these were quite straight ahead and simple offering quite a pleasant, and uniquely boxing sounding archtop experience. This one has had some work over its lifetime, with what appears to have been a neck reset and a spray on the back. A cool piece of Melbourne music history!
Cosmetic condition is okay for its age with present wear, checking, dings, and scratches all throughout. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action. Includes a Sigma-branded soft shell case.Ā
